Bruce Weigle served for 27 years in the US Air Force and Air Force Reserve (including service in the first Gulf War), initially as a Special Operations team leader, then an intelligence officer. Armed with a BA in History and an MS in Strategic Intelligence, he also worked for 20 years on the Joint Staff/Pentagon as a senior Middle East analyst, a position that amply prepared him for writing about 19th century European wars. He has also written rules for medieval gaming and WWII air, sea, and land combat games.
